Answering The Telephone

Answering the phone is a painstaking task, for you never know what to expect. Sometimes the calls might be of benefit to you and in other occasions, its just pointless to have picked the phone up. Prank calls are by far the most irritating of them all. At times, these sort of calls come in the middle of the night or at other times when you least expect to receive one. People who specialize in prank calling are probably people who have nothing else better to do with their boring and unproductive life. Who could blame them though for being such jerks? They're just wanting a little attention I guess. Prank calls are one of those phone calls that is eligible enough to be listed in the least beneficial category. Nonetheless, I still find picking up the phone to be a very painful experience. I receive loads of phone calls in the morning part of the day whence I'll usually be fast asleep. The moment the phone starts ringing, it will feel as though thorns had just pierced through them fragile eardrums of mine; current emotions that I am feeling will literally vanish the moment my phone starts ringing and I'll start mumbling like a grumpy old man. What even worse is to have a sweet dream distorted by the ringing of a phone. I really hate when that happens.

But, when I look at the bright and sunny side of things, the less favorable ringing sound of a phone does help me loads in terms of waking up early. If it wasn't for Alexandre Graham Bell's life altering invention, I'd probably be late or not turn up at all for appointments or other daily errands that are of importance to me. Although the ringing of a phone may be of less pleasure to me, it still is an integral part of my life. It has served me as a friend, a loyal servant and a precise alarm clock with a ringing sound that is less appealing to thine ear. However, my phone hasn't been functioning for the past three days. I'm not sure what caused this malfunction though. My trusty companion now lies on the desk as silent as a mute. It rings no more. In the past, I always wished that my phone malfunctions so that I may be left in peace, but now, after having my aspirations turned into reality, I now live with regret. My hand phone on the other hand, uses prepaid instead of a fixed line. To make matters even worse, I have no credit in it. This makes it impossible for me to contact other people who are related or in close acquaintance with me in case of an emergency. Thus, I hope that my phone comes back to life again for without it, I am just a lost and lonely soul.
