Well as I stated in my previous post, crime is at large at the moment. Everywhere we go, we'd often hear a peculiar tale of a strangers house being robbed. This is further evidence that human beings are becoming too materialistic. Man's lust for material and earthly desires has caused them to act like a bunch of deranged maniacs. Although it is a little harsh, but still, this possibly the nicest manner in which I can describe their burning desire for material wealth of being. For instance, some people would even go to the extent of chopping off another person's finger just for a gold ring. Imagine what would have happened if the ring were a necklace? This is pretty hostile behavior and pondering upon it would just make you shudder. What has become of that once so civilized being? Why, has he succumbed to such violence? These are a few of the many questions which still lie unanswered. Some of this aggressive behavior and lust for material possessions can be related to psychological pressure. You see, in this world there are two kinds of people.
The first kind are the one's who have so much while the second, are the less fortunate one's who acquire very little. This is psychologically disturbing to the unfortunate one's who would love to indulge themselves in material wealth. They feel that being materially wealthy would ease all their financial problems rendering them a so called 'fairytale lifestyle', or in other words the 'good life'. If I am wrong please let me know for if this was not the case then gambling would have become history a long time ago. Gambling however, does have its pros and cons. Hitting the jackpot means that you acquire money the easy way, with no real effort whatsoever. But the negative aspect of it is that you'll be wanted by every possible materialistic criminal in town. You'd probably beat Victor Manuel Gerena in the most wanted list for that day. Anyway, other than gambling(which is the slightly more advisable route for easy money), some people may opt to take the riskier alternative to acquire some easy money, that is via robbing another wealthier individual. Although, its even faster and at most occasions you are guaranteed instant cash at the very moment you begin your onslaught, this is however a ruthless and imbecilic thing to do. This is due to the fact that you could leave the person that you robbed terror-stricken for days and not to forget paranoid of going back to the crime scene.
Apart from that, this is also probably the most nonstrategic of moves to acquire money as every criminal leaves a trace behind. I am no crime scene investigator to specify what sort of trail that a thief leaves behind; but what I do know is that there's bound to be a trace. All this is inhuman behavior is probably caused by the lack of moral and spiritual education a thief reciprocates. Hereto, the above is just a brief picture of what peoples aspiration for material wealth can drive them into doing. Thereto, before I close this post, I'd like to share a link to the 'Baha'i Reference Library-Some Answered Questions'. The following is the link; http://reference.bahai.org/en/t/ab/SAQ/
The above link will help you dear readers to understand more about material wealth. For your information, the author of 'Some Answered Questions', is Abdu'l-Baha, The Master himself. But before I end, I would like to let you guys know that it is not wrong to have some degree of material wealth but please do not be too materialistic till you neglect the spiritual side of life. With that, I hope that you enjoyed reading this post of mine.
