The Brief Lifespan Of An Insect

The life of an insect is brief. Much briefer than that of a human beings. This is because these creepy crawlies don't get much press attention for they are feared by many people. This fear people have towards insects often cost these little helpless creatures dearly. For instance, most human encounters with cockroaches often end up with the latter being squashed into little tiny bits of minuscule sized pieces. I'm not too sure why people fear cockroaches though? Its probably because they look freaky and are often regarded as creatures of filth. But what can the cockroach do about this? It can't just change into Tom Cruise or something right? This is due to the fact that it is already created in that sort of manner. Thus we can't just go around killing cockroaches because they look freaky to us. Picture this; if the cockroach looks weird in our perspective, what would the cockroach think of us in their point of view? Definitely the cockroach will think of us as being severely huge retarded individuals; this is just an opinion. I ain't a cockroach so I wouldn't be able to know the exact opinion they have of a human being in their microscopic sized minds. That's probably the major reason why they flee at the very sight of us.

But is this how we come to respect the existence of an insect that's been here for millions and millions of years? By trampling them, or by smashing them with a roll of unused paper? This approach clearly doesn't show forth our gratitude to the tiny creatures which inhabit our planet. The most heartless of methods to end the life of an insect is by far the spraying of insecticides. This approach is deemed heartless in a sense that it renders the insect a slow and painful death. If you want to kill somebody or something, it is better carried out instantaneously than to let the person die a slow and painful death. The same thing applies for the insects. If you want to put an early end to an insects already brief lifespan, it is more comforting for the insect if it is done immediately rather than for it to be prolonged. But guys, try to smash the insect that you despise most in a more docile manner for we do not want its hemolymph to be flying all over the place. We don't want CSI to find out that you murdered an innocent creature amidst your premises right?
