How Do You Identify A Tourist?

I was listening to Mix.FM(An English Radio Station) in the evening; around about four o'clock by my reckoning. It was at that moment of time Prem(the Mix.FM DJ) asked listeners the following question; How do you identify a tourist? The question seemed a little ridiculed to me at first but looking back at it, how do you actually identify a tourist? Although simple as it seems, the question does seem pretty subjective though. The main reason why the Radio DJ asked this question is because apparently, he and his crew members went to Hong Kong; probably for a spontaneous holiday. While at Hong Kong, the only navigation tool that the cavalry had in their hands was just a map. According to Prem, the whole group would often have a round table discussion in the middle of the street every time they feel as if they're heading the wrong way. What even more hilarious is that each member of the entourage would force their way into the tiny circle in order to catch a glimpse of the A4 sized map. The cities inhabitants who happen to pass this man-sized donut, would often stare back awkwardly.

Thoughts like for instance, 'the inseparability between tourists and maps' would probably be running through their minds at that instant. By the way, this human-donut display in the middle of the pavilion is probably the best way to identify a tourist; so there's one way. The second, is probably by listening to the difference in terms of a foreigners accent and that of the locals. This is probably a more difficult way to comprehend whether a guy who seems a little foreign is a tourist or not. The third is probably by observing the way a person dresses. If the person who's face seems a little new, dresses differently than others in town, he could also by my reckoning be a tourist. For now, those above are probably the only answers that I can conjure up to the following question; how do you identify a tourist? In actual fact, I'd like to actually know more ways of identifying a tourist. Thence, if anyone has any other ways of recognizing a tourist, please do feel free to write them down via the comment application.
